Policies
Long Island Geek has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to:
- – Stalking
- – Intimidation
- – Offensive verbal comments
- – Physical assault and/or battery
- – Harassing or non-consensual photography or recording
- – Bathroom policing
in relation to, but not limited to:
- – Race
- – Color
- – National origin
- – Gender
- – Gender identity
- – Gender presentation
- – Sexual orientation
- – Age
- – Body size
- – Disability
- – Appearance
- – Religion
- – Citizenship
- – Pregnancy
If a person engages in harassing behavior, Long Island Geek Staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from LI Geek with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE at the convention. Attendees, Vendors, Guests, Press, Staff, Volunteers, and Security are all subject to our Anti-Harassment Policy.
Anyone can report harassment. If someone’s behavior has made you uncomfortable, or if you witness the same happening to someone else, you should immediately contact LI Geek staff at the information desk, a security staff member or email liwhoharassment@gmail.com.
While Long Island Geek does not tolerate inappropriate behavior as listed herein, we are a private organization, and we are not responsible for enforcing the law. Thus, any liability to anyone who is subject to any of the behavior detailed above shall be limited to a full refund of the cost of admission to Long Island Geek to the aggrieved person.
